About learnwith.games

Free learning games for primary school children, organised the way schools in England teach: subject by subject, year by year, topic by topic.

What is here

There are 35 playable topics across Years 1 to 6 (29 in maths and 6 in English), with more on the way, including science, geography, history, computing and languages. Each topic has a short game, a guide for parents and teachers, and a printable worksheet with answers.

How topics are chosen

Every topic is based on a statutory requirement in the National Curriculum in England (Department for Education): the mathematics programmes of study and the English programmes of study. The exact wording is quoted on each topic page. Schools only have to cover each programme by the end of the key stage, so your child's school may teach a topic a little earlier or later.

For families outside England, each topic also lists the closest US Common Core standard. The two curricula do not line up exactly, so treat this as a guide. Where the match is loose, the topic page says so.

How the games work

Questions are generated fresh every time you play, so there is always new practice. Maths answers are checked automatically by our test suite before every release, and English question banks are checked against the spelling and grammar rules they teach. Games work with a mouse, a touch screen or a keyboard. Sound effects are off unless you turn them on, and animations are reduced if your device asks for less motion.
